Resurfacing of Stadium track on in earnest

Resurfacing work on the running track at the National Stadium is now underway.


The resurfacing which has started one week after the scheduled time, is being carried out by Rekortan, a globally recognized supplier with over 50 years of experience in track development.



Funding for the project, is US$350,000 and Independence Park Limited, which oversees the Stadium complex, is collaborating with Grand Slam Track to ensure the project is completed swiftly and efficiently.


General Manager at Independence Park Limited Major Desmond Brown told Irie Fm sports that the work will be done with the time allotted.


Meantime the new track is set incorporate the latest performance-enhancing technology


It will debut at the Boys and Girls champs from March 25 to 29, followed by the Global Grand Slam track event in April.
